Sugar slips on subdued demand

Mumbai: Prices of both varieties of sugar slipped at the Vashi wholesale market here on Tuesday following subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 12/28 per quintal to Rs 3,220/3,372 from last Saturday’s level of Rs 3,232/3,400.

Elsewhere, medium sugar (M-30) also rose by Rs 10/25 per quintal to Rs 3,330/3,605 as against Rs 3,340/3,630 previously.

Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,220/3,372 (Rs 3,232/3,400).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,330/3,605 (Rs 3,340/3,630). (PTI)
