Srinagar: Hundreds of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of slain Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) commander, Noor Muhammad Tantray, in his native village in southern Kashmir’s Tral town.
Noor Muhammad died in a gunfight wuth government forces in Samboora area of Pulwama district.
He is native of Darganaie Gund village of Aripal tehsil in Tral.
Funeral prayers were held for Tantray at a local ground as mourners were pouring in from various parts of the town.
Local sources said that all entry and exit points were sealed with barbed wires amid heavy deployment of forces across the area.
“People are on way defying restrictions to reach slain militant’s native village,” they said.
Sources said that the local committee is waiting for more people to come and second round of funeral prayers is scheduled to take place in some moments from now.
