Srinagar: Two Kashmiri journalists received the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in New Delhi on Saturday.
India’s Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu, gave the 12th Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards in various categories.
Deputy Editor, The Indian Express, Muzamil Jaleel bagged the award for political reporting in the print category and was given a cash award of Rs one lakh along with a memento.
Jaleel was hailed for his remarkable reporting from Kashmir.
Waseem Andrabi, who is a photojournalist with The Hindustan Times, received the award in photography.
The Hindustan Times’s Srinagar-based reporter Abhishek Saha won the same award in the “Reporting from JK and the Northeast” category.
