DDC Shopian reviews winter preparedness plan

SHOPIAN: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday reviewed the action plan regarding winter preparedness and snow clearance arrangements in the district.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD, and Mechanical Engineering, besides, AD FCS&CA, and other concerned officers and officials were present at the meeting.
According to a statement, the meeting was informed that men and machinery have been kept ready to meet any eventuality and a control room was established at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
The Assistant Director FCS&CA informed the meeting that 822 quintals of sugar have been distributed among the consumers. Similarly, 2504 quintals of rice shall be dumped in advance for 3 months at 83 locations in the district which remain inaccessible during heavy snowfall.
On the occasion, the DDC directed the PDD authorities to adopt a concrete mechanism to ensure supply of power as per schedule.
He directed the health administration to ensure better medicare facilities for the patients and ensure proper sanitation measures in and around the hospitals. The DDC further directed the concerned authorities to activate the control rooms and equip them with adequate manpower to cater to the needs of the general public. He sought interdepartmental coordination for effective response to meet out any eventuality in approaching months.
