BUDGAM: Applauding the role of State Cooperative Bank, MLC Khansahab, Saifuddin Bhat stressed on the need to bring banking services to the doorsteps of the rural populace.
This he said during the inauguration ceremony of a new branch held here at the branch premises on Tuesday. The MLC inaugurated the branch in presence of Chairman State Cooperative Bank M.S. Dar, Managing Director M Lateif and several senior officers.
A large number of people also attended the function.
According to an official statement, Dar said that the demand to open a branch at Arigam was raised several times by the locals. He stressed that State Cooperative Bank was morally bound to serve rural masses.
He said, “The bank is on a mission to achieve 100 percent financial inclusion goals.”
He thanked the people for making the launch possible and requested them to get associated with the branch and take advantage of exclusive schemes like zero interest home appliance loan scheme, child smart saver scheme, etc.
Managing Director, M Lateif informed that the branches of the State Cooperative Bank are launched not only to provide banking services but also to serve as financial literacy centres. He explained that the bank has launched ‘Guide The Banker’ initiative in which suggestions are sought from clientele about their requirements and then products are accordingly tailored to meet the requirements of specific sections. He urged the attendants to actively participate in the said initiative.
