Rights of Kashmiris snatched: Jama’at

SRINAGAR: Strongly condemning the killing of a lady Ruby Jan in Shopian by forces, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir termed it as “grave violation of human rights”.
Jama’at in a statement said, “It is a fundamental right of every person to protest against if his/her rights are snatched by the state. But in hapless part of Jammu & Kashmir, India tramples every right of Kashmiris at worst and those who raise voice peacefully to get these rights fulfill, are being treated with bullets and other lethal weapons.”
Jama’at said Kashmir is a disputed territory awaiting its settlement according to the wishes and aspirations of the people concerned guaranteed under the resolutions passed by United Nations Security Council. “But due to haughty and stubborn behaviour of India, its arrangement is being prolonged,” it said.
Expressing solidarity with the family of Ruby Jan and others, Jama’at impressed upon the regional and international human rights groups like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Committee of Red Cross besides the world community to take strong measures for the end of unabated bloodshed in Kashmir.
