Delhi can never kill the sentiment of Kashmiris: Hurriyat

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference on Tuesday strongly condemned the civilian killings, saying New Delhi can never kill the sentiment that has always prevailed among the people of Kashmir.
Paying tributes to slain militants in Shopian gunfight, Hurriyat said these youths are laying their precious lives and are nourishing a “sacred cause” with their blood.
Blaming Indian forces for carrying “planned massacre” in JK, Hurriyat termed “it sheer cowardice and inhuman act.” “During the weekend several innocents were killed by these brute forces,” it said.
Hurriyat ridiculed Indian authorities, Delhi-based media and their “false propaganda”, saying, “Their rhetoric and concocted stories of so-called bravery and valour stand exposed as these forces without any provocation are targeting innocent civilians.” Hurriyat appealed to international community, Asia Watch and organisations for human rights to take cognisance of the deteriorating situations and “state sponsored terrorism” in Jammu Kashmir.
Ridiculing the local pro-Indian parties, Hurriyat said they are involved in heartless activities and gruesome crimes and are shedding crocodile tears over these heart wrenching incidents.
“Their ostrich like approach and false sympathy over these killings is just mockery and deceit,” Hurriyat said and blamed the pro-Indian parties for “strengthening the forced occupation”. “They are local faces of occupation and responsible for miseries that people are facing.”
Meanwhile, Geelani’s directions, a deputation comprising Mohammad Rafiq Owasi, Mukhtar Ahmad, Sajad Ahmad Sofi and Ishfaq Ahmad Khan visited various hospitals in Srinagar to enquire about the health conditions of the injured persons in Shopian shootout.
They said the condition of the patients in the hospitals is very bad and maximum youths have critical injuries due to the excessive use of pellet gun.
