Srinagar: Traffic police have seized more than 400 vehicles for operating from outside the abrogated bus stand at Batamaloo since November 5, officials said Tuesday.
A statement issued here by police said the action has been taken in compliance to the High Court directions. “Traffic Police city Srinagar has seized more than 403 Sumos, Taveera, Xylo, Cabs who were found operating from the entry and exit points of the erstwhile Batamaloo Bus Stand since 5 November, 2017,” the statement said.
It said that around 40 mini-buses have been seized and road permits of 24 vehicles cancelled.
“They (taxis, minibuses) should not operate from the entry and exit points of the erstwhile Batamaloo bus stand as honourable High Court direction is clear that no PSV should operate from erstwhile Batamaloo Bus Stand,” the statement said.
SSP Traffic, Tahir Saleem said that any vehicle found operating from the entry and exit points of erstwhile bus stand would be seized immediately and can only be released by high court and the route permit can be cancelled.
