JKLF slams int’l community for silence on Kashmir killings
SRINAGAR: Terming the “merciless murder” of a cab driver Asif Iqbal as “another glaring example of Indian terrorism” in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Monday slammed the international community for maintaining criminal silence on these “gruesome” killings.
According to reports, Asif, a driver by profession, was killed in firing by army personnel during an ambush at Thandipora on Saturday night.
“A bread earner of his family has been killed with impunity,” said JKLF vice chairman Master Sheikh Muhammad Afzal while speaking to the mourners at the residence of slain youth at Thandipora, Kupwara.
Afzal was leading a party delegation to express condolence and sympathy with the bereaved family. He also delivered a message of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik to the bereaved family.
He also condemned the arrest of JKLF district secretary Nazir Ahmad and said the “highhandedness of police has crossed all limits, which is highly condemnable”.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman in a statement expressed his heartfelt grief over the demise of mother of Abdul Majeed Bhat (president of Bazar Committee Maisuma). A party delegation visited the bereaved family at Chanapora and expressed condolences with them.
