‘Important initiatives taken with regard to industrial promotion’

JAMMU: Commissioner Industries and Commerce Department, Shailendra Kumar called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here on Monday and briefed him about issues relating to the functioning of the Craft Development Institute. According to an official handout, the governor advised Kumar to see that the working of this important institution was fully established in the next few weeks and its affiliation to the University of Kashmir be settled without any delay.
Kumar also informed the governor about some important initiatives taken with regard to industrial promotion, enhancing entrepreneurial environment and advancing the growth of cottage and village industries and the handicrafts and handloom sector.
Governor stressed the importance of every possible effort being made to secure balanced growth of the state through sustainable utilisation of all available natural resources in the state, the handout added.
