SRINAGAR: The resistance leadership on Sunday strongly condemned the killing of a civilian Asif Iqbal by government forces at Thandi Pora, Kupwara. According to reports, Asif, a driver by profession, was killed in firing by army personnel during an ambush at Thandipora on Saturday night.
While Syed Ali Geelani addressed the mourners and blamed authorities for the “brutal” killing appealed for election boycott, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said it is due to the lack of accountability that forces continue to kill innocent. JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik said the pro-India parties and politicians are responsible for such “cold blooded murders”.
