SRINAGAR: Safakadal Stars winning streak continues as they beat Dachigam Hanguls in their league match of Kashmir Super League 3rd edition played UAE on Friday.
Safakadal skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. Safakadal dominated with the bat as Shabir Bhat came all guns blazing smashing quick fire 62 off just 23 balls with opener Riyaz Mahoo (35 off 32) and Zubair Mir (38* off 29) also contribute the scoreboard and helped Safa Kadal to put a formidable total of 187 on the board.
Dachigam Hanguls batmen in pursuit of 187 gave a solid start to their side ,opener Aamir Munshi (30 off 22) and captain Amjad Khan (31 off 24) leading the chase.
After the departure of both the batsman saw Umar Bhatt (24 off 17) and Anayatullah Mustaffa (21 off 18) carry the baton and press towards the target.
However, their charge was completely halted with Sameem taking a hat-trick in the penultimate over assuring victory for Safakadal. Dachigam were eventually dismissed for 172.
The next match saw Nowhatta Rebels beat Sopore Spartans, who registered their fourth straight loss of KSL III. Sopore won the toss first and elected to bat first. Besides opener Burhan Reshie (34 off 23), Sopore lost wickets frequently as they failed to perform with the bat.
Nowhatta bowlers Shuhaib Khan (3/30) and Mohammed Saqib Amin (3/11) helped restrict Sopore to 115 all out in 16.3 overs. Nowhatta chased down the total with ease as opener Mushahid Hussain (48* off 38) leading the chase. Nowhatta reached the target in 12.3 overs, scoring 119/2.
The next match saw Char-i-Shareef Paragons beat Manasbal Mavericks.
The next match saw the undefeated Lalbazar Lions beat Razeykadal Falcons. Lalbazar won the toss and chose to field first. After a positive start by Razeykadal, a brilliant 89-run second-wicket partnership between Mudasir Bashir (32 off38) and Asir Mir (81 off 40), which featured eight sixes, Razeykadal finished with a score of 189/6 in 20 overs.
In the second innings Lalbazar, as they have, had a big performance from one of their players. Led by SuhailQadri (75* off 51), and prudent batting by his teammates allowed Lalbazar to reach the target comfortably in 18 overs, as they finished with a score of 184/5.
The next match saw Bulbul Lanker Badshahs defeat SouraQalanders. Soura won the toss and chose to bat first. Soura’s top order batted patiently, as opener Amir Mehraj (46 of 45) and Ubaid Lone (42* of 38) led the attack for Soura. With some accurate bowling from Bulbul Lanker, Soura found it hard to score those final few runs and finished their innings with 151/5. The second innings began with Soura bowler Qumail Bhat (3/19) rocking the Bulbul Lanker’s top order in the first over, taking two wickets. A 107-run third-wicket partnership between Mohammad Shahdad (37* off 39) and Aabid Rajab (79 off 56) steadied the innings, as Bulbul Lanker eventually managed to finish their chase in 18.5 overs scoring 153/4.
In the final match of the evening, defending champions Rajbagh Royals beat Kings XI Sangam.
