SRINAGAR: Undergraduate students of 5th and 6th semester of Bachelor’s degree appealed authorities of Kashmir University to hold their examinations in the month of May.
The students said that they had enrolled in colleges in year 2015 but are yet to complete their degrees despite passing of three years.
“The university authorities have decided to conduct our exams in the first week of July which means our results will be declared in September. It will consume our one more precious year”, said Auqib Ahmed who studies at GDC Sopore.
Suhail, a student from Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar said students won’t be able to sit in state or national level entrance examinations in case exams are held in July.
“Then will have to wait for another year to appear in entrance examinations and will be sheer injustice to them,” he said.
The students further said that the process of conducting examinations and the techniques of evaluation are poor.
“The new methods introduced have been a failure and the university authorities should stop experimenting with the future of students,” they said.
