SVSA bids farewell to founder faculty member

SRINAGAR: SKUAST Veterinary Scientists Association (SVSA) on Wed nesday bid farewell to Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Baba, Head Division of Veterinary Anatomy, on his superannuation scheduled for 31-12-2017.
According to a statement issued here, Professor Baba joined Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry in 1987 as Assistant Professor Veterinary Anatomy. He became professor and head Division of Veterinary Anatomy besides serving SKUAST-K in the capacity of Deputy Director Research for some time.
A get-together of veterinary scientists and teachers organised at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry was attended by scientists of all cadres. Tributes were paid to Professor Baba’s contribution as a founder faculty member and a scientist, the statement read.
His academic, research, extension and administrative contributions were remembered and rated par excellence.
President SVSA, Professor Shaib Kamil in his address highlighted Professor Baba’s research acumen and teaching qualities besides his contribution towards strengthening the SVSA.
Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Professor Sarfaraz A Wani, heads of divisions and students who also spoke on the occasion regarded Professor Baba as a “great human being, an excellent teacher and an able administrator”.
“SVSA feels that the void created by his superannuation would be difficult to fill,” it read.
While wishing Professor Baba a happy and prosperous post retirement life, SVSA hoped that he would continue to guide the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry in general and Division of Veterinary Anatomy in particular in their future academic, research, extension and administrative endeavours.
