Clashes erupt during CASO in Pulwama village

Anantnag: Clashes erupted in Rohmoo village of Pulwama on Wednesday as people tried to disrupt a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by the government forces. Nobody was injured during the clashes.
A senior police official from Pulwama said that the operation was launched following inputs regarding presence of militants in the area.
“The cordon was launched at about 2:00 PM this afternoon,” the official said.
As the area was being cordoned off people came out in large numbers and pelted stones at the government forces. Tear smokes shells, as per local sources, were used to disperse the protesting people.
Searches were carried out despite the clashes and called off after more than two hours after no contact was established with the militants.
“The operation has been called off now,” SSP Pulwama, Chaudhary Muhammad Aslam, told Kashmir Reader. He confirmed that clashes erupted in the area during the CASO.
