Srinagar youth arrested, wanted to join Zakir Musa group: Police

Ganderbal: Ganderbal: Police on Tuesday arrested a youngster from Srinagar and claimed that he was planning to join the militant ranks. He was arrested from Ganderbal area.
Without disclosing the name of the arrested youth, senior superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, said in a press conference, that the Rainawari resident was arrested Tuesday morning from Qamaria chowk while on way to Sumbal.
“The youth was under surveillance and being tracked as he was in contact with some Pakistani militants under surveillance.” Lone said “We knew his movement and we nabbed him early today. He confessed that he intended to join Ansar Gazwat ul Hind (led by Zakir Musa).”
He said that the boy was handed over to his parents “after counseling”.
“It is the duty of every parent to watch the activities of their children and also take proper care of them,” Lone said.
