Handwara militants buried in Baramulla

BARAMULLA: The three non-local militants, described by police chief SP Vaid as ‘suspected Pakistanis’ who were killed during an encounter with government forces in Younso village of Kupwara were given a silent burial at a specified graveyard at Gantamulla in Baramulla located on the sides of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway.
The militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were unidentified. The bodies were shifted to graveyard at around 10: 30 pm and laid to rest in presence of some locals. Over two dozen people and police men offered their funeral prayers.
A local woman was also killed in the encounter.
More than 65 non-local militants were buried in this new graveyard for the past two years by police and civilians. The bodies belonged to non-local militants who were killed by the government forces during counterinsurgency operations.
