Bar denounces US for declaring Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar, on Tuesday said they strongly condemn “the recognition of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel by the U.S President Donald Trump, and the killings of innocent civilians by Israeli forces.”
“It is an act of terrorism and violates universal declaration of human rights,” Bar Association said.
“Under UNSC 469th and 470th resolution, which provides that all the legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, the occupying power, to alter the character and status of holy city of Jerusalem, have no legal validity and constitute a flagrant violation of fourth Geneva Convention,” they said in a statement.
They further requested the members of Organization of Islamic Conference, which is meeting on Wednesday, and the heads of their respective governments, to take all necessary measures to foil the “enemy attempt.”
Bar Association in a statement condemn the killing of a young woman Misra Banoo, wife of Ishfaq Wani of Yunsu, who had delivered a baby child only two months ago, by the ruthless forces and demands that a high level judicial probe should be ordered in the matter so that those, who have broken all records of brutality, are immediately brought to book.
“We also condemns the arrest and unlawful detention of Comiti Paul Edward, an award-winning French Journalist, on the flimsy charge of filming some victims of Human Rights violations, who as usual had come to stage a protest inside Partap Park on December 10, 2017 and demands that he should immediately be released,” they said.
