BUDGAM: In raids conducted on Friday night, police arrested six miscreants involved in the ‘stone pelting’ that took place in Pakherpora area of Budgam on Friday morning.
SSP Budgam Tijinder Singh confirmed the arrests and said that the arrested persons were not just involved in the stone-pelting but were also wanted in other stone-pelting cases.
“They are involved in creating trouble among the common masses and are forcing people to shut their shops without any reason,” Singh said.
He said the arrested persons have been detained in police custody. “An FIR has been registered against them and investigation is going on,” he said.
Government forces were pelted with stones on Friday morning in Pakherpora area of Charar-e-Sharif, Budgam, when they were returning from a cordon and search operation in a nearby village.
A local source told Kashmir Reader that on Friday night, government forces came to Pakherpora village and barged inside several houses, from where they arrested a total of six youths.
Residents of Pakherpora alleged that the government forces broke windowpanes of several houses in the village.
