SRINAGAR: Members of Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) and J&K Ski and Mountaineering Association of Kashmir (JKSMA) in a joint meeting condoled the untimely demise of Javid Iqbal Khan, a veteran adventurer of the valley.
In a statement issue here on Friday, President ATOAK Rauf Tramboo, members of both the organisations paid rich tributes to the departed soul.
Javid Khan was an avid skier and mountaineer who took part in several ski and mountaineering expeditions in J&K and Himachal Pradesh. He trained scores of students in snow skiing and mountain climbing. He served both J&K Youth Services & Sports and recreational wing of J&K Tourism Department, a statement issued on Friday read.
President ATOAK, Rauf Tramboo in his condolence message said, “The sad and untimely demise of Javid Khan has created such a void in adventure sports and recreational tourism which is hard to fill. We have lost a great friend, a fellow adventure enthusiast and a great patron of adventure sports.”
President JKSMA, Mohammad Yusuf while paying rich tributes to Javid Khan said, “The adventure sports fraternity has lost a friend, a sincere human being, a great adventure sports lover and teacher of very high caliber. Thevoid is impossible to fill.”
ATOAK and JKSMA members have extended solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to departed soul, the statement added.
