Protests against SRO 202 held in Srinagar

Srinagar: Scores of employees on Sunday registered their strong resentment against the SRO 202 implemented by the ruling coalition of PDP and BJP in J&K state.

Holding banners seeking revocation of the said SRO, the protesting employees demanded “justice”.

The employees appointed under SRO 202 have to serve government for 5 years at least when they shall get their full salaries against the post they are employed.

“When the government can hike their salaries and other perks overnight, what makes it to pay us according to out job profile,” one protesting employee said.

“We believe the SRO 202 is against the laid-down rule of law as it violates the basic right of equal pay to equal work,” observed another employee.

They impressed upon chief minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally look in to the issue.
