SRINAGAR: Expressing profound grief over the loss of precious lives in the Peshawar terror attack, Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday urged the Government of Pakistan to identify the culprits and bring them to book, saying the country is continuously targeted.
Terming the attack as the handiwork of cowards and agents to destabilise Pakistan, Geelani demanded exemplary action against “brutal killers” and called those involved as “beastly enemies of the entire humanity”.
“Killing innocent students is a callous and beastly act,” Geelani said in a statement and extended his sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families. “It is a well-thought-out conspiracy to defame and malign (Pakistan).”
The Hurriyat chairman said those involved in the attack can never be the followers of Islam. He said terrorism in every form and place is condemnable and there is no place for such actions in any religion particularly Islam.
“It is indeed very sad and unfortunate,” Geelani said while urging the people and political leaders in Pakistan to note of the fact that “this country is a hope for (the) Muslim Ummah”.
Praying for those killed in the heinous attack, the octogenarian resistance leader expressed sympathy with the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
