Fake licenses racket busted in Gbl, 2 arrested

Ganderbal: Police have arrested two fraudsters and recovered fake government documents in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police said acting on specific information, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone constituted a team headed by ASP Ganderbal Fayaz Hussain and SHO Ganderbal DySP Akash Kohli raided a shop titled as KAKA studios at Tawheed chowk Ganderbal where fake licenses, fake stamps, forged documents and fake IDs including a computer and computer accessories were recovered.

Police arrested one person identified as Tawseef Ahmad Sofi, son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi, resident of Saloora Ganderbal from the spot and another accused was arrested later who was identified as Amir Hassan Rather, son of Ghulam Hassan Rather, resident of Saloora.

The officials said that after the two prime accused fraudsters were arrested, investigation was set into motion.

A case FIR number 249/2017 under section 420 RPC was registered in Police Station Ganderbal and the two accused are in police custody and some more arrests are expected and further investigation of the case is going on.
