Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama villages on Saturday morning.
According to reports youth attacked a force’s party at Trichal and Naira villages of Pulwama district.
According to local sources government forces early morning launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) at Naira village during which clashes erupted in the village.
Forces resorted to teargas shelling and aerial firing against the stone pelting protesters, local sources told Kashmir Reader.
They said that youth attacked forces vehicles with stones who were returning from CASO at Naira. Forces also damaged window panes of some residential houses during clashes, locals alleged.
Police officials confirmed to Kashmir Reader that clashes erupted in the area. However they did not divulge any details.
