Geelani, DeM pay glowing tributes to slain militants

Srinagar: Paying tributes to the five slain militants of Pakharpora Budgam and Saghipora Sopore encounters, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said that the ‘youth lay their lives to end the age old slavery of their nation, putting a ‘huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end.’
Criticizing the criminal silence of the world community, Geelani in a statement said that their insensitivity and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed.
“The world forums, who stand witness to our dispute, act as mute spectators, thereby legitimizing and legalizing the brutalities unleashed in the region for the last 70 years,” Geelani said that the youth are on the forefront of the movement whether it is laying their lives, livelihood, or facing the hardships in jails.
He said that “they bravely and willingly offer their today for our tomorrow.”
Pro-freedom leader said that ‘arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India has to come to terms with the writing on the wall, lest this unresolved and unaddressed volcano can erupt and burst anytime-engulfing millions of people in this region’.
Meanwhile, Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Thursday paid glowing tributes to the five slain militants in Pakherpora, Budgam and Sagipora village of Sopore area encounters.
“Four Mujahideen were martyred by Indian occupational forces in Futlipora while as another Mujahid achieved martyrdom in Sagipora in north Kashmir,” statement said.
DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a press handout said that the ‘sacrifices of these youth will never go waste and will lead the Kashmiri nation towards its goal of achieving freedom.’
Nasreen added that India is using informers to fulfill its nefarious designs “India is an enemy of every Kashmiri and is using the pro-India politicians, the puppet government and a section of people. All these people must understand that India can never be friend of any Kashmiri Muslim. It makes use of these persons whenever it needs and dumps them after making the Kashmiri nation suffer.”
She said that ‘Kashmiris have witnessed in the past how Indian misused Ikhawan during the 1990s and then dumped them and even got the renegades killed when their need was over. “ Those supporting Indian illegal forces to get our Mujahideen martyred must understand that India is not only the enemy of the pro-freedom people and Mujahideen but also of every Kashmiri Muslim,” she added.
Nasreen said that India’s only aim in Kashmir is to extend and maintain its control in Jammu and Kashmir. “To sustain it, India can go to any extent. Those people who are helping India to achieve this evil goal will one day meet the same fate as Ihkwanis did,” she added.
