SRINAGAR: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has strongly condemned the “violence” committed by government forces in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A spokesperson of the outfit Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying, “(New Delhi’s) terrorism cannot damage the freedom struggle (of Kashmir). The right to freedom is the just right of Kashmiris and India must submit to the indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmir. The fathers and mothers of the nation cannot leave behind their sons who are fighting the Indian occupation.”
“Indian forces are aware that the mothers, daughters, and sons (in Kashmir) rise against them whenever the freedom fighters are cornered and help them escape,” Ghaznavi quoted Shah as saying.
The LeT chief appealed to world’s humanitarian organisations to “take notice of the severe human rights violation in Jammu Kashmir”.
“Indian forces must bear in mind that the brutality being imposed on Kashmiris will yield evoke intensified reaction in future. We will avenge the Indian atrocities,” Mehmood Shah said.
Hailing the Hajin residents, the Lashkar chief prayed for their safety and vowed help and support for them.
