Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Thursday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health condition of senior Hurriyat leader Peer Saifullah.
The spokesman said that he was operated on for brain tumour at Apollo hospital and had to visit the hospital for regular checkups.
“However he was arrested and lodged in Tihar jail,” he added.
Quoting medical reports, the spokesman said that he was advised by his doctors to avoid stress.
“It is the moral responsibility of the administration to provide treatment to Peer Saifullah from the same consultants who attended him in Apollo hospital,” he said.
The spokesman appealed to human rights organisations like Amnesty International and Asia Watch to impress upon the Indian government the need for providing medical aid to Peer Saifullah and other detainees lodged in different jails.
