SRINAGAR: The ever increasing interest and influence of Israel in Kashmir is “alarming” and a “matter of serious concern” for Muslims of Kashmir, said Chairperson of Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) Dr Muhammad Qasim on Wednesday.
In a statement, Qasim said, “The increased strategic cooperation between the Jewish government of Israel and Hindu government of India needs to be understood in the perspective of the Holy Qur’an (Al Maidah-82) and the historical events that occurred during the ‘Battle of Ditches’ (Khandaq).”
“Judaism and Hinduism are based upon the superiority of race and both treat Muslims as illiterate (Umeyeen) and impure (Malich). Both these countries have expansionist ideologies for West Asia and South Asia, which is actually based on their religious teachings.”
The MDM chief said after 1947, the Congress government’s support to the Palestine cause was a “vote bank gimmick” and “in reality, the two countries shared military ties right from 1947”.
“In Kashmir, the Israeli government started training Indian army, intelligence cadre and Kashmir police since 1990. This cooperation continues since then. Now, both Indian and Israeli governments want to give social cover to these activities through education, cultural activities and trade etc.”
He said Muslims of Kashmir know how the Government of India is making its all-out efforts to change the Muslim majority of Jammu and Kashmir into a minority as was done by Israel in Palestine. “India wants to follow the Israeli designs in Kashmir. Therefore, (it) wants (to) enhance and consolidate Israel’s activities in Kashmir by giving education, cultural and trade cover to it,” he said.
“The religious organisations, traders and pro-freedom leadership should make people aware about these Indian-Israeli joint designs and should not support (them) at any cost,” Qasim said.
