SRINAGAR: Karwan-e-Islami chairman Ghulam Rasool Hami on Friday said the new Haj policy is framed to hurt the sentiments of Muslims.
“The day, on which the new Haj policy was introduced, we presented our concerns that this policy has been framed to hurt the sentiments of Muslims,” Hami said while addressing people at Shah Balg (RA) Conference at Shrine of Hazrat Aali Ali Balgi (RA) Pakharpora.
“New policy was framed without respecting the emotions of people and Islamic teachings,” he said.
Terming the new Haj policy as “complete injustice” with people, Hami questioned both central and state Haj Committee that “on what basis will you charge more than 1.15 lakh from Srinagar to Jeddah”.
He demanded immediate removal of the new Haj policy and asked government to form another Haj policy keeping in view the sentiments of people.
Meanwhile, terming the recent fire incident at Khanqa-e-Mo’alla shrine as very unfortunate, Hami said the sacred relics and the shrines posses a deep connection with the belief of people especially in Kashmir and the concerned department should use the most efficient technology for the protection of these shrines so that such incidents don’t happen in future.
