Sopore: Sopore: As part of its weeklong programme–Connecting to Serve, tehsil legal services committee Sopore on Wednesday organised a variety of programmes at Shah Rasool Welkin School at Sopore.
Chief Guest on the occasion was principal session judge Rajesh Sekri. The function was attended by CJM Sopore Masarat Ruhi, SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh, ARTO Baramulla Jamsheed Chowdary, MS Baramulla Hospital Syed Masood, and President Bar Association Sopore Mohammad Maqbool besides other lawyers and dignitaries.
The programme began on November 11, 2017 with a walkathon against different social evils especially increasing menace of drug abuse, child labour and alcoholism.
The programme included inter-school debates, painting competition, skits besides cultural events. Star attraction of the day was a skit on current legal system, performed by students of SRM Welkin. The performances kept the audience in jam-packed auditorium glued to the chairs.
Speaking on the occasion Baseema Aijaz, vice-chairperson SRM thanked the tehsil legal services committee Sopore for organizing the event in collaboration with our institution.
“This weeklong event helped masses understand the legal services besides the awareness campaigns throughout the week”, Baseema said.
Masrat Ruhi said the programmes were aimed at creating awareness among the people.
The events will conclude on November 18, 2017.
