Srinagar: Srinagar van drivers and operators on Wednesday staged protest demonstration in press enclave against the alleged harassment by the traffic police department.
The drivers said that they ferry kids to schools from their respective homes for last many years. “We are solely dependent upon this profession,” they said.
“We are appealing the concerned department to look into the matter on humanitarian grounds. We are all educated and are not doing any government jobs”, said the drivers.
On Tuesday traffic police seized more than twenty school vans in the city. These vans are hired by the parents to ferry their wards to the schools.
