Authorities slap 36th PSA on Masarat Alam

Srinagar: Authorities today slapped 36th Public Safety Act (PSA) on Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and Muslim League chairman, Masarat Alam Bhat.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara on Wednesday pressed fresh PSA on the Hurriyat leader following which he was shiftd to Kotbalwal jail Jammu during last night.

Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had only ten days back quashed Masarat’s detention orders and directed his release. However, he was booked in a case registered in 2015 in Kupwara district when he was out of jail only for 40 days.

Masarat, was arrested in October 2010 after he spearheaded the then mass uprising.
