Asks NC prez to see how Delhi humiliated his predecessors
SRINAGAR: Denouncing the statement of Farooq Abdullah, wherein he has said that “Azadi is no option” Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday asked National Conference (NC) president to revisit the annals of history as “he is speaking against the wishes and aspiration of people”.
In a statement, Geelani said “these power-hungry politicians always played deceit and these irresponsible and short-sighted people have always served the interests of their masters”.
“They are barefaced, follow their treacherous politics and never feel ashamed for their absurd statements,” said Geelani while blaming them (pro-India politicians) for prevailing political uncertainty and chaos. “They should learn from history and see how their predecessors were humiliated and insulted by authorities in New Delhi.”
Hurriyat chairman while referring to history, advised Abdullah to “see how (your) predecessors were forced to beg for chief minister’s berth after being sacked from prime minister’s status”.
“It is an irony,” said Geelani while expressing surprise over NC leader’s statement. “These politicians are still following their politics based on betrayal and deceit.”
“People are offering sacrifices to achieve their right to self-determination, not for their stale theories or so-called autonomy,” Geelani said. “All these politicians are just slaves of their masters and parroting what they have been assigned and asked to do.”
“We are not pursuing power politics. People are nourishing their sacred mission with blood and following genuine struggle for right to self-determination,” the Hurriyat chairman said and asked people to “remain cautious about the conspiracies being hatched by these Delhi groomed henchmen”.
Geelani said “since our genuine voices are being acknowledged and our right to self-determination is being credited by (the) international community, hence they feel desperate, irritated and nervous”.
Haling people for their “dedication” and “sense of sacrifice”, Geelani said people are determined and won’t succumb to pressure tactics and will pursue their mission till the right of self-determination is achieved.
