SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference on Saturday said that sincerity and human approach is fundamental if New Delhi wants to solve the (Kashmir) issue.
A spokesperson of the conglomerate in a statement said Indian authorities should “behave like humans” and create conducive atmosphere in South Asian region as prevailing anarchy in the region is the outcome of “rigidity and haughty approach” of New Delhi.
He said for the past 71years, New Delhi despite all its military might against innocent people in Jammu Kashmir could not break their resolve. “Even if it (India) stays here for the next hundred years, it can (neither) deter people from (pursuing) their cherished goal nor suppress (the) freedom sentiments,” he said.
Blaming Indian authorities for “deceit”, the spokesperson said New Delhi in a bid to “mislead” the internationally community is parroting about the “so-called” negotiations in Jammu and Kashmir and, “contrary to its claims, is carrying its oppressive and suppressive measures against people”.
“(New Delhi is) desperate to hoodwink (the) international opinion,” the spokesperson said, and ridiculed authorities for their “false claims” that situation in Kashmir is improving.
The spokesperson strongly condemned the arrest spree unleashed by state administration saying government forces with their “heartless approach” have created “havoc and a sense of insecurity” among innocent youth.
He said police during nocturnal raids are arresting people on “fabricated allegations”. “During raids, dozens of innocent youth were arrested from Danger Pora, Pulwama. In chilling, cold people were dragged from their houses in Kupwara, Shopian, Magam, Islamabad (Anantnag), Budgam, Bandipora, Baramulla, Sopore and Hajin; frisked and paraded in open,” the spokesperson alleged. “At many places, forces showered pellets on peaceful protestors.”
“No power on earth or such coercive measures can dampen people’s passions or deter them from following their cherished mission,” he said.
“Forces and its other armed militia are being provided with deadly and sophisticated weapons to combat innocent and unarmed civilians in (the) state,” he said.
