GANDERBAL: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla on Monday inaugurated a 3-day district exhibition organised by Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (JKKVIB) in the premises of Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex here, an official press note read.
According to the press note, the DDC visited various stalls displaying a variety of Khadi items. 10 stalls have been installed in the three-day long exhibition.
The DDC Ganderbal said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned to help unemployed youth get seed money from banks to start their own enterprise.
In order to generate awareness among the masses regarding various employment generating schemes, Singla instructed KVIB authorities to organise such programmes in future and also in rural areas too.
The main objective of organising such events is to provide marketing avenues to the artisans, unit holders financed by the board under Khadi and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the press note added.
Member JKKVIB, Masarat Kar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer JKKVIB, Muzzaffar Allaqaband, District Officer JKKVIB, Mehraj-ud-din Farooqi and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
