Srinagar: Several members of Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadees have protested the re-induction of Abdul Majeed Dar into the organization. Dar is one of the main accused in the assassination of former Jamiat president Showkat Ahmad Shah.
A statement issued after a meeting of “key members from all districts” on Saturday in Lal Bazar Srinagar said the members registered “strong objection and protest” to the “shocking re-induction” of Abdul Majeed Dar and vowed to keep Jamiat free from “mischievous elements”.
“People from various backgrounds and regions have also expressed their outrage over this on social media platforms. They also objected to the recent inclusion of Majeed Dar as one of the main speakers at a recently held conference by Jamiat Ahl e Hadees at New Light Colony, Sopore,” the statement said, adding that the attendees appealed to the current administration of the organization to immediately revoke the decision to re-induct Abdul Majeed Dar and not involve him in any future programmers and initiatives.
