DDC B’la chairs consultative meeting

BARAMULLA: To review the progress of banks in district Baramulla, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash chaired District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting here on Wednesday, an official press note read.
Officers of concerned departments, representatives of financial institutions, representatives of RBI, NABARD and other concerned attended the meeting.
According to the press note, the meeting reviewed the progress and achievements made by the banks in implementation of various government sponsored schemes.
The DDC was informed about the performance of various banks in different sectors.
Out of the total annual credit plan of Rs 2285.60 crore for 2017-18, Rs 60312.68 lakh have been achieved in agriculture and allied sectors.
Moreover, Rs 15034.71 lakh out of targeted Rs 58513.20 lakh has been achieved in small enterprises, besides Rs 593.68 lakh in the service sector and Rs. 75941.07 lakh and Rs 33914.87 lakh have been achieved in priority and non-priority sectors, respectively, the press note read.
The DDC said that banks and various financial institutions in the district must play their role for the economic progress of the district. He impressed upon the concerned to educate people and urged for proper coordination among various institutions so that people were benefited from various welfare schemes, the press note added.
