LUCKNOW: To promote tourism products of the state, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department participated in India Travel Mart (ITM) – Lucknow 2017 between 27-29 October 2017, an official press note issued on Monday read.
Vinod Zutshi, former Secretary Tourism, Government of India inaugurated the travel mart.
Assistant Director Pahalgam Bilal Ahmad Mir, Tourist officer Jammu Parikshit Sharma and an official from Delhi Basharat Ahmad represented J&K during the 3-day travel mart.
According to the press note, J&K showcased its rich culture, heritage, art and craft besides its landscape. Short movies recently shot by the department of tourism were also screened during the mart to attract travellers to Kashmir.
J&K stall received good response from travellers who wished to visit Kashmir. The officials interacted with the travel agents who bring bulk tourists to J&K and encouraged them to promote newly developed destinations in the state.
ITM Lucknow is India’s prominent international travel and tourism mart. The event brings together all travel professionals to facilitate the trade of inbound, outbound and domestic tourism, the press note read.
India Travel Mart exhibition provides numerous opportunities for the industry players to advertise and explore their products and destinations in the tourism sector.
The participants in the travel mart included travel agents, tour operators, tour organisers, business & corporate houses, government and public sector undertakings/organisations, domestic and international travellers, tourism organisations/offices, associations, excursion makers, professionals, hotel management & catering technology, food craft institutes, educational institute, etc., the press note added.
