Hizb rejects media reports of assassinating Sajad Lone

SRINAGAR: Refuting the reports carried in some sections of media over the assassination plot by its men against the Peoples Conference leader and Minister for Social Welfare Sajad Lone, the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) has termed them as “fake assumptions”.
In an e-mailed statement to KNS, HM spokesperson Saleem Hashmi said the reports citing Indian intelligence agencies are “false” and aimed at defaming the Hizb leadership. He termed the reports as “conspiracy for fomenting civil war” in Kashmir.
“Hizb denies and condemns in strong words such fictional stories. Our disagreement with persons is based on principles and such disagreements as per our code of conduct don’t form the basis for such attempts,” Hashmi said.
The spokesperson said harassing and arresting the children of resistance leadership on charges of “so-called” money laundering are aimed at character assassination and dividing the “pro-freedom people” in Kashmir.
