Srinagar: In the Premier Division match of State Football League-2017, J&K Police XI and Accountant General’s (AG’s) XI match played at Synthetic Turf TRC here on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the closely contested match, both the teams missed several scoring opportunities. Gulzar Ahmad opened account for the Police team in 15th minute of the match. After conceding a lead, AG’s XI players attacked the opposite goalpost several times, but they failed to send the ball into the goal post and the first half ended with scoreline reading 1-0 in favour of J&K Police XI.
The second half also witnessed some aggressive play by both the teams. While AG’s XI was desperate to score an equaliser, the Police players were trying to double the lead. But for the 30 minutes into the second half, both the teams failed in their attempts. It was Amanjeet Singh of AG’s XI who scored an important goal for his team in the 75th minute of the match. For next 15 minutes, players of both the teams made several attempts to take a lead, but when the referee blew the final whistle the match ended in a 1-1 draw.Amrit Pal Sing from AG’s XI was declared as player of the match.
