JAMMU: In order to ensure and streamline the supply of quality agriculture inputs to farmers, intensive field inspections of various distribution centres of seeds, pesticides and fertilisers were carried out on Wednesday by Assistant Director Law Enforcement, S Baljeet Singh Raina along with Law Enforcement Inspector, Rohit Gupta, an official press note read.
According to the press note, to ensure good quality inputs to farmers at reasonable prices and to create quality consciousness among all dealers, samples were also drawn from the dealers for quality check.
While inspecting M/s Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd, it was found that no proper record was made available and more over the premises were changed without proper permission from the concerned authorities. Further, while inspecting M/s Jammu Agri Inputs, Ware House Jammu, various contraventions of Seed Act 1966 and Insecticides Act 1968 were observed and notice was served to them on the spot, the press note read.
During the inspection, the team directed all the dealers to display valid license, maintain stocks and sale registers, display of fertilisers sale rates which is mandatory under Seeds Act 1966, Insecticide Act 1968 and Fertiliser Control Order 1985, the press note added.
