Cross-firing at Uri continues

Baramulla: Troops of India and Pakistan kept on firing at each other for the second day in Uri sector on Sunday. Officials in the Indian army said that Pakistani rangers violated the ceasefire again at around 1pm and targeted Indian posts in Kamalkote, Maryann, Baz and other sectors. The fire was retaliated, they said, and no loss of life was reported.
Locals living in the area said that the firing continued from Saturday due to which people living along the Line of Control (LoC) were unable to move outside and the movement of their cattle was also affected. Some cattle were killed and at least two residential houses were damaged due to splinters of mortars fired in Kamalkote area, they said.
On Saturday, a local porter was killed while two other females were wounded in the Pakistani firing.
