Srinagar: Authorities on Monday imposed restrictions in seven police station areas of Srinagar to prevent pro-freedom-called protests against growing incidents of braid chopping in the Kashmir Valley.
As per official sources, restrictions were imposed in the areas of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud.
Meanwhile, shops, public transport and educational institutes remained closed in Kashmir on the call of pro-freedom leaders.
Private transport, however, moved normally at places where restrictions were not imposed.
Incidents of braid chopping have been reported from different parts of the Valley during the last one month but nobody has been arrested.
