Srinagar: Singer Adnan Sami and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah got involved in a war of tweets after the latter shared a tweet addressing the lack of attendees at the beginning of the concert on Dal banks at SKICC in Srinagar on Saturday.
Sami, a famous Pakistani-origin musician and singer, sung some of his well-known songs, including those requested by youth in attendance at the “Rhythm in Paradise” concert.
The concert was jointly organized by the Union Home Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir government. Sami performed for free at the concert.
“Empty seats at Adnan Sami Concert and we are past the scheduled Start time. PR disaster for JK govt led by @MehboobaMufti,” read the original tweet with pictures of empty seats at the concert.
Abdullah quoted the retweet with “That’s a real pity. I hope people have filled those seats now. For an evening they can let the music transport them to a more peaceful place.”
