CUK students hold Aagaaz to promote entrepreneurship

Srinagar: The students of the Department of Management Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organised “Aagaaz-2017” at Nowgam-I academic block of the varsity here Thursday.
The event was organised to promote the entrepreneurship in Kashmir and expose the future executives to the experience of some well-known entrepreneurs of the valley.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Dean School of Business Studies, Prof. S Fayyaz, Head Department of Management Studies, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir hailed the students for organising the programme and applauded them for being successfully able to garner financial and other support from different organisations in the Valley for conducting the event. He said the entrepreneurs who have supported the event have also inspired the students to start their own ventures after completion of their degrees.
Head of the Department, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah also lauded the students for holding the event. “The students have done a commendable job by involving different stakeholders for the conduct of the programme,” he said.
Entrepreneurs including Ehtisham Firdous (Aqualite waters, Bisleri), Samma Beg (Kashour wear), Mumin Bhat (captured illusions), Javed Parsa (Parsa’s), Ms Beenish & Umaira (Craftworld), Ms Farah Tanki (Sweet mix by Farah Tanki), shared their valuable experiences and viewpoints about the topic. Motivational speaker Javed Bhat also spoke on the occasion. A cultural programme and skit was also presented by the students of the department of Management Studies and S M Iqbal College.
