Srinagar: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Muneer Khan Tuesday said that militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) was a threat as they believe in surprise fidayeen attacks.
“We will have to deal with them (JeM) separately, said Khan during a press conference after the gunfight between militants and forces in Humhama ended. He added that “such attacks will continue to happen as long as Pakistan is our neighbor”.
As reportedly earlier, a group of militants launched a suicide attack on a BSF camp near the Srinagar International Airport, killing an Assistant Sub Inspector of the BSF and leaving four forces personnel injured.
All the three attackers were killed during the operation started soon after the attack.
Khan said “the gunfight has ended with the killing of all three militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad”. He said that six to seven Jaish militants were still at large.
He said the airport wasn’t the target of the militants.
