SRINAGAR: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Saturday paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Karbala at a day-long congregation at Delina, Baramulla, in which thousands of people participated.
While speaking at the congregation organized by Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, Ansari said the battle of Karbala has taught the entire humanity to be steadfast against falsehood and injustice.
He said that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his pious companions would continue to inspire humanity to prefer a life of dignity over ignominy.
Earlier, the congregation started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the elegies by prominent Zakirs.
Later, a procession was also carried out in which men, women and children participated to pay homage to the Karbala Martyrs.
