TRAL: Normal life came to a grinding halt in Tral sub-district of south Kashmir on Thursday as complete shutdown was observed to mourn the death of third civilian injured in the recent grenade blast.
Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, 35, a resident of Tral-e-Payeen was critically injured in a grenade blast on September 21 and succumbed to injuries on Wednesday afternoon after battling for his life at Intensive Care Unit of SKIMS Soura Srinagar. Two civilians had died in the blast on the same day.
A salesman by profession, Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, resident of Tral-e-Payeen, is survived by two minor sons who are studying in classes UKG and LKG.
Mushtaq was the only bread-earner in his family and is survived by his parents, wife and two minor sons.
Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that all shops, business establishments remained closed in the town while as traffic was also off the roads.
Meanwhile, the family expressed gratitude to the locals for backing them during the rough time and the staff of SKIMS Soura for trying their best to save the life of Mushtaq. “The doctors tried their best to save the life of Mushtaq but Allah had decided otherwise,” said Fayaz Ahmad, a relative of Mushtaq.
