Srinagar: Army soldiers on Wednesday resorted to aerial firing to allegedly save a hair hopper caught by locals. The incident was followed by protests. The police were on spot to pacify the protesters.
Locals of Chimmar village near DH Pora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district claimed that they caught hold of a braid chopper in their village who was a non-local.
“Soon as the locals claimed of getting hold of the hair chopper army soldiers arrived at the scene and started firing in air,” local sources said.
They said that soon the army personnel took the alleged hair chopper along and went away.
This angered locals who came out of their homes in large numbers raising anti-army ad anti-India slogans.
They were alleging army of being directly involved in the braid chopping incidents in south Kashmir which has already created fear among the locals.
The protests were going on when reports last came in and the local police were trying to pacify the protesters.
