BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Hussain, Sunday visited Gurez to take stock of progress of ongoing development works in the Constituency.
The DDC was informed that work is apace on three developmental projects, including Dawar Bridge, Dak Bungla Dawar and Sarad Aab-Tutroon Khatoon Raod, being constructed by the R&B Department at an aggregate cost of Rs. 4.64 crore, said a statement by information department.
Later, the DDC also convened a meeting with the concerned officers at Dak Bungalow Dawar. During the meeting, it was informed that so far a total of Rs. 2.84 crore has been spent on the projects.
The meeting reviewed sector-wise performance made by the concerned Departments and also discussed achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes.
The meeting was also informed that Degree Collage Gurez, being constructed at a cost of Rs. 14.74 crore by JKPCC, will be completed by October this year.
While reviewing the stock and supply position in the area, it was given out that under NFSA, 11148 quintals of rice, 2835 quintals of atta and 1033 quintals of sugar have so far been dumped at various stores, adding that the remaining winter quota will be dumped by the end of this month.
The meeting also decided that DDC Bandipora and Chief Engineer R&B shall provide Rs. 35 lac each towards the construction of the Dak Bungalow Dawar.
Chief Engineer R&B, Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, besides various district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
